My Neighborhood would be pleasant if people weren't in it.

While taking my walk around my neighborhood, I had a change in worldview that despite not being particularly fond of my neighborhood, there are still interesting things within it. While walking through my neighborhood I found a few different places that made my neighborhood more pleasant to live in than I realized such as convenience stores, restaurants, and parks. A 10-minute walk away from my building, there is a plaza that holds a Terry Fox Way Dental, Radhani Sweets & Restaurant, and my personal favorite, Terry Fox Convenience. Terry Fox Convenience is a diverse local convenience store that holds things from Beef Jerky to instant noodles and energy drinks to Bluetooth headphones and even watches. They hold a large variety of items for reasonable prices which has led me to spend a lot of money there throughout my high school years.

About another 10-minute walk in the opposite direction brings us to another plaza. This plaza holds restaurants like Pak Sweets, Sauce n Slice Pizza, Hot and Sour Hakka Kitchen, Royal Paan, Grill n' Cafe, and Gowalmandi Food Street.

With all these places and restaurants, I have to say that my favorite places to shop would be a convenience store called "Momin Halal Meat & Grocery Inc." and the restaurant Sauce n Slice Pizza. While in high school, and even now, It's common to find groups of Rick Hansen Students going to these places for convenience and for something to eat during their lunch breaks. This, unfortunately, made this plaza a place where students would fight or cause trouble. This would, of course, ruin the experience of this plaza.

My neighborhood is not only a hotspot for Students, but I've found that we have a decent amount of parks in the surrounding area. The main two that I wanted to focus on were Heatherleigh Park and Century City Park. These two parks are the closest to the schools in our area which are Rick Hansen Secondary, Falling Brook Middle School, and St. Herbert Elementary School. Century City Park is my favorite of the main two most popular as I find that the playground is much nicer than the one in Heatherleigh, but my main issue with it is that it's also the closer of the two to the school which makes it a highly populated area outside of school hours.

After going by and seeing all of these places in my neighborhood, I've come to the understanding that my neighborhood is much nicer than I initially believed and that I tend to be blinded by the people who are living in it which takes away from the wonders and beauty's outside of them.
